Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust (ASPH) is a designated Cancer Unit within the Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire Cancer Network (SWSH). ASPH is the largest provider of acute services to residents of Surrey and a growing proportion of west London residents, totalling more than 380,000 people. Our main catchment area is the boroughs of Runnymede, Spelthorne, Woking and parts of Elmbridge, Hounslow and Surrey Heath.
The Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire Cancer Network was established in the summer of 2001, as a 3rd wave network and serves a population of 1.2 million. All care of (add tumour type) patients is managed on a Network-wide basis and all Trusts within it operate a policy for the management of (add tumour site) in keeping with the Manual for Cancer Standards. Resources to care for and treat (add tumour site) patients within the SWSH Network are as follows:
The Cancer Centre for the Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire Cancer Network is at St Luke’s Cancer Centre, adjacent to RSCH in Guildford. The Centre provides chemotherapy and radiotherapy for all patients and recruits ASPH patients into relevant local and national trials.
In addition to the above, due to location and historical links, Ashford & St Peter’s Hospital’s NHS Trust has established connections with the North London Cancer Network for Tertiary care.
