Living and Working for the Trust
Written by Pathology Manager

Ashford & St. Peter’s Hospital sites are set to the south-west of London, within 20 miles of central London. Good rail links are provided to London Waterloo (~30 minute journey) or by London Underground (the tube) from Hatton Cross to Piccadilly Circus (40 minutes).

The Trust has childcare facilities on both sites, and some excellent on-site (Greenlands) and near site accommodation, including the brand new “Sandgates” facility for key workers. The Ashford site boasts a Tesco superstore on site. We have also arranged a special discount for staff wishing to use the wonderful facilities at the local healthclubs (River Bourne Health Club or David Lloyd).

Applicants to any of our posts may wish to consider moving closer to either site. Surrey boasts some of the best schooling in the country (Three local state secondary schools appearing in Sunday Times “Parent Power” Top 400 schools 2003) and some excellent local attractions, including Thorpe Park and Chessington.

Both Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals are easily accessed by car (junctions 13 and 11 of the M25), being situated just a few miles south-west of London’s Heathrow Airport. Both sites are also well served by public transport.

Biomedical Science Coterminus Degree

The Surrey & North Sussex Pathology Network has launched a coterminus training option to the existing BSc in Biomedical Science available at the University of Surrey.

This major new development is designed to provide the local health economy with graduates in the field of Biomedical Science, who will be sufficiently skilled on graduation to work as registered Biomedical Scientists in the Pathology laboratories of the Network.
