Admission Transfer Discharge of Infected Patient Policy |

Treating patients in the most appropriate setting and managing bed pressures means that it is often necessary to transfer patients between wards and hospital sites however infectious patients should only be moved if deemed clinically necessary.
This policy stipulates the process that must be followed for patient transfers from:
- Within Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust (ASPH) sites
- Local inpatient community hospitals
- Other hospitals
- Nursing / Residential homes
