Details of the Request
I wish to understand the way Crohn’s disease is managed in the UK. Please would you;
- Give me the number of Crohn’s patients being treated by you at any time.
- Send me any information to provide understanding about the treatment process, for example:
- Patient pathways;
- Local guidelines;
- Business cases relating to treatment;
- Protocols - especially prior to surgery;
- The number of clinic slots available to your patients per month;
- Relevant formulary data;
- Any relevant audit data.
- Who is the local lead relating to the treatment of Crohn's.
- The names of any GPwSIs in: Crohn's Disease; Ulcerative Colitis; Gastroenterolgy in General.

Details of the Response
Thank you for your Freedom of information request regarding the treatment of Crohn’s Disease.
Regarding questions A and B we estimate the cost of complying with your request would exceed the appropriate limit of £450. The appropriate limit has been specified in regulations and for public authorities outside central Government is set at £450. This represents the estimated cost of one person spending 3½ working days in determining whether the Department holds the information, and locating, retrieving and extracting the information. Under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is not obliged to comply with your request and we will not be processing your request further.
However, we are able to provide the following answers to questions C and D.
- Who is the local lead relating to the treatment of Crohn’s?
The trust lead is Dr Stephen Evans
- The names of any GPwSIs in
- Crohn’s Disease
- Ulcerative Colitis
- Gastroenterology in General
There are none within the Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will need to contact the PCT for this answer.
