Today – our first day in a 3 month consultation on becoming a Foundation Trust – we signed up our first members from the local community.
 Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals Chairman Aileen McLeish welcomes local resident Ronald Butler as one of the first members of the Trust.
Chairman Aileen McLeish said: “We really hope as many people as possible support us by signing up as members. Foundation Trusts are run very differently from existing NHS Trusts and through membership and their elected governors will be much more accountable both to staff and the local community. We will be out and about across the local area with our Foundation Trust road-show over the coming weeks, so please come and talk to us and find out more. We look forward to welcoming you as a member.”
