The gastroenterology service includes purpose built endoscopy suites and offers:

·          Direct access gastroscopy

·          Diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy

·          Banding and sclerotherapy for oesophageal varices

·          Oesophageal dilatation and stenting

·          Injection of bleeding ulcers and ethanol necrosis of tumours

·          Diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP including sphincterotomy, stenting and biliary manometry

·          Oesophageal function testing including manometry and ambulatory pH recording

·          Breath testing for bacterial overgrowth and Helicobacter

·          Inflammatory bowel disease clinic

·          Liver and biliary clinic
