The gastroenterology service includes purpose built endoscopy suites and offers:
- Direct access gastroscopy on receipt of letter or endoscopy request form. Protocol available. Please use referral proforma, available from the secretary
- Diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy
- Banding and sclerotherapy for oesophageal varices
- Oesophageal dilatation and stenting
- Injection of bleeding ulcers and ethanol necrosis of tumours
- Diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP including sphincterotomy, stenting and biliary manometry
- Oesophageal function testing including manometry
- Breath testing for bacterial overgrowth and Helicobacter
- Inflammatory bowel disease clinic
- Liver and biliary clinic
