Can I join the library?

You can join the library if you are employed by:

  • Ashford and St Peter's NHS Foundation Trust
  • Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
  • Surrey Community Health
  • Central Surrey Health (Virgin Care)
  • South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust
  • Local Clinical Commissioning Groups
  • GPs and their staff working in north west Surrey
  • Commissioning Support Unit
  • Health Education Kent, Surrey and Sussex
  • Public Health staff working in Surrey

If you are a student, you may also join the library provided you are on placement within one of the aforementioned trusts. Your will need to have your registration form authorised and we will need to see your college or university ID.


How do I join the library?

You will need to come to either St Peter's or Ashford library and fill in a registration form. Please remember to bring your trust ID with you for authentication purposes. Students will need to fill in a yellow registration form and get it signed by their course tutor, the person in charge of their placement or a member of staff from the clinical placement office.


How many books can I take out?

You may take up to 6 books in total from either library.


How long can I hold on to the books?

Most books are loaned for 4 weeks (2 weeks for students). Books with yellow stickers will be loaned for 2 weeks. Books can be renewed a maximum of two times.


Can I return a St Peter's book to Ashford and vice versa?

Yes books can be returned to either library.


How do I return books when you are closed?

Both libraries have book return bins. The bin at Ashford is located outside the Education Centre, whilst the bin at St Peter's is located outside the main entrance to the library.

How to find us The library is situated on first floor next to the Education Centre at the western end of the hospital. The library is situated on ground level in the Duchess of Kent Wing.
