The Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the "Trust") is a public benefit corporation which was established under the National Health Service Act 2006 (the "2006 Act"). The principal places of business of the Trust are Ashford Hospital, London Road, Ashford, Middlesex TW15 3AA St. Peter’s Hospital , Guildford Road, Chertsey, Surrey,KT16 0PZ The statutory functions conferred on the Trust are set out in the 2006 Act. The Trust also has a Constitution as required under Schedule 7 of the 2006 Act which includes further provisions consistent with Schedule 7 in support of the governance arrangements within the Trust. The purpose of the Trust (as required by the 2006 Act) is to provide goods and services for purposes related to the provision of healthcare in accordance with its statutory duties and its Terms of Authorisation. The Trust is to have all the powers of a foundation trust as set out in the 2006 Act, subject to its Terms of Authorisation. Under the Standing Orders relating to the Arrangements for the Exercise of Functions (SO 4) the Board exercises its powers to make arrangements for the exercise, on behalf of the Trust, of any of its functions by a Committee or sub-Committee appointed by virtue of SO 5 or by a Director of the Trust, in each case subject to such restrictions and conditions as the Board thinks fit.
