Food and fun are the key elements of support from Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals staff for the 2007 Comic Relief Red Nose Day.     ‘First Steps’ Nurseries and ‘Aspects’ Cafes, located on both sites, are supporting the fundraising.

First Steps Nurseries at Ashford and St. Peter’s hospitals, who provide child care for children from three months through to five years, have organised book sales (Tuesday 13th March at Ashford), a biscuit and cake sale at Ashford (Thursday 15thMarch at Ashford) and are holding Red Nose parties (Friday 16th March on both sites) with red themes.    At the Ashford site they are also holding an Odd Sock day and a face painting day.    At St. Peter’s they also have a  ‘Wackey Hair’ day and red toy sensory day (SPH) planned.   On Sunday 11th March they held a joint sponsored walk around Virginia Water park.

Sylvia LyesActing Manager at First Steps Nurseries: “It’s all in a good cause and is great fun.   Participating is just as important as raising money and we hope that the activities will encourage the young people in our care and their parents to think of others.”

Continuing with the focus on food Aspects Café in St Peters will be having a ‘home made’ cake sale from 12th March to 16th March.   Aspects Café in Ashford will be having one from 13th March to 16th March.   All the profits go to Comic Relief.    Hotel Services Manager at Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals, Florence Looi, commented: “Staff from both hospitals will be able to contribute to Red Nose Day by purchasing the lovely ‘home made’ cakes produced by our contractor OCS, who run the Aspects Cafes.  We are grateful to them for supporting this initiative.”
