British 10K – Reserve your place now
Written by Communications Team

Now in its 7th year, the British 10k is a key event in the London sporting calendar and attracts 20k runners annually.  Therace route takes runners through the heart of London - on roads closed to traffic - passing many of the worlds most famous historic and iconic landmarks. This is the 3rd year the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal will take part having secured 24 places.  Over £3,000 was raised last year to help improve the delivery of diabetes care throughout Surrey and West Middlesex.  If you would like to get fit and help a local good cause please reserve your place NOW!

To run and raise money in aid of the Appeal, please contact the Fundraising Team on 01932 722330 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it    All that is asked for is a £20 registration fee and a guarantee that you will raise a minimum of £150 by mid June.   We will then forward you sponsorship forms, and/or help you set up your own page on the ‘JustGiving’ website where supporters can donate securely online.  This has the added benefit of automatically securing gift aid, but removes the timely task of having to collect funds after the run.

Supported by Ian Botham OBE, the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal is raising funds to create a new state of the art, dedicated diabetes resource centre that will provide integrated diabetes treatment, education, and research across the community and all sectors of the healthcare system for patients, carers and medical professionals. The initiative aims to deliver first class local accessibility in line with the National Service Framework for diabetes care.  It will be linked to community clinics by a sophisticated IT system allowing quicker and easier access to information and support for both patients and medical professionals.
