A group staff from the two BUPA offices in Said hospital play assistant Janet Harris: “They really have transformed the area! It’s not the sort of thing that we have got time to do but they have liaised with one of our staff Emma McFadyen, who qualified earlier in July as a Play Specialist, and they have created a lovely and very interesting sensory area that we know the children will enjoy. They were a lovely, cheerful group and we do appreciate their gift.” Squires Nursery of Holloway Hill donated plants, shrubs, chip bark, compost and a variety of garden ornaments and one of their staff, Kim Hewson, spent her day off helping the BUPA team. Said BUPA organiser Carolyn Salter, who is on the company’s graduate trainee scheme currently working as a financial analyst in sales and marketing: “BUPA staff enjoy being involved in projects that give something to the local community. One of our colleagues had a young child who spent seven weeks in St. Peter’s with a broken leg and she nominated the children’s ward for our community project. “Twenty-five members of the finance staff have been involved and the project has given us a great opportunity to get to know each other out of our offices.” Apart from weeding and planting the team also painted all the outdoor woodwork on storage sheds and fences in the play area. |
