Anyone who has ever spent hours cleaning knows that what you hope for is a brilliant finish! House-keeping assistant SunilPunnoose shines – quite literally - in that department and his enthusiasm for his job and the end result has not gone unnoticed! Former nurse Sandra Hancock has been a patient three times on the wards where Sunil works, and she was so impressed with his attention to detail – which includes cleaning the light bulbs – that she has written to St. Peter’s Hospital to praise his efforts. Sandra, of Said Sandra: “I would like to say how impressed I was with Sunil and his dedication to his job and the pride he obviously takes in his work. This very quiet gentleman is a credit to the cleaning team, and to the training obviously given to him at the very start.” Sunil, 39, began working at the Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust two years ago working in a variety of areas before becoming responsible for cleaning 16 side rooms, 16 bathrooms and staff toilets on Aspen Ward and Mau six months ago. Aspen Ward Senior Sister Mary O’Sullivan (pictured here with Sunil) said: “We have a very good team, we are very lucky. The amount of surface they have to cover is huge.” His boss, Housekeeping Services Manager, Emma Brookes said: “I have known Sunil for the last year since I took over here at St. Peter’s and in that time I have found him to be a very conscientious worker. Nothing is too much trouble for Sunil and he is a great asset to the Housekeeping team. He has recently become a father and even with these extra responsibilities he still gives us 110%.” Sunil was pleased to learn that a patient had taken the trouble to write in about his work and was going to share the news with his family.
