A & E Staff Nurse Sam Ollerenshaw and his fiancé Katy were given £14,000 to spend on their wedding – the only catch was that Sam had to organise every detail, had only four weeks from start to the big day and a TV company were going to film him every step of the way! The programme “Don’t tell the Bride” is due to go out on BBC3 at 9pm on November 8. Viewers will see Sam going to his job in the A&E department at St. Peter’s Hospital, chatting to colleagues about the plans he is making and discussing the difficulties of the groom choosing a wedding dress. During the four weeks of making the programme, immediately before the wedding day of Friday, 13 July, Sam and Katy had to live apart and all the plans were supposed to be a complete surprise to her. Sam, who admits he is not a born organiser and is always late for everything said: “Katy had seen the advert for the show – it was only further down the line that I realised that I had to plan the wedding! It was tricky coming up with everything and hoping everything would work and on the day I was panicking, I was so nervous. In the end it was a fantastic day and I loved every minute of it.” Katy and Sam, of |
