| Family support continues for baby unit |

For the second year running an Addlestone family have held a major fundraising event that has resulted in more than £2,000 being donated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Peter’s Hospital. Paul and Diana Mills of Mead Lane, Addlestone, were so grateful for the care their son Ben received when he was born five weeks prematurely in 2005 that they organised a golf day in £2006 that netted more than £2,000. They did the same thing again in August 2007 and having done all the sums have now presented £2,166.95 to Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) with a further £250 pledged by Diana’s employers, XEROX of Uxbridge. The money will be divided between the Early Births equipment fund and staff training courses. Said Paul: “Ben spent six days on the neonatal intensive care unit and then a few days in the transitional care unit before we were able to take him home. The people here were fantastic. You can have all the equipment in the world, but if you haven’t got anyone to work the machinery it’s not worth having it! “We will always be very grateful for the care Ben received and the support we were given and this is our way of saying “Thank you.” He’s a brilliant little boys, he wants to do everything!” Paul,30, is a member of The Meads Gold Society which plays seven different courses over seven months and one of them isHoebridge Golf Course, Old Woking, where the fundraising takes place during a special Said Paul: “I would like to thank Hoebridge Golf Club for their support in making this fundraising possible and also local firms and people who make the whole day, the dinner and the auction such a success.” Paul’s family have been long established as” B.E.C.
