Christmas Day 2008 babies
Written by Communications Lead

Thirteen babies were born at St. Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey, on Christmas Day 2008 compared to five last year when  three baby girls and two baby boys were born on Christmas morning.

Said Associate Director for Maternity Services Eileen Nolan: “Christmas is a very special time of the year and a very special time to be born.  This Christmas at St Peter’s it was a busy day with nine baby girls and four baby boys deciding Christmas Day was the day for them!  Every baby’s birth is a special time but there is something a bit more magical about Christmas.  We wish all the babies born with us this year a very happy Christmas and healthy New Year.”

The first baby, a girl, was born at 01.19 hrs to Susie Curtis of Weybridge. The baby weighed 7lbs. 8oz (3.41 kg.) and the last baby of the day, also a girl, was also to a Weybridge Mum, Tracy-Marie Thomas and weighed 7lbs. 3oz (3.26kg.) when she was delivered at 19.47hrs.

The last time the total number of babies born on Christmas Day reached double figures was 2006 when there were 10 - five girls and five boys.
