Anyone who has had a sport-related injury affecting a knee may be interested to know that a new surgeon with a special interest in such problems has been appointed to the consultant staff at Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust.
Consultant Trauma Surgeon Mr Paul Trikha – who qualified at St. Georges’ Hospital, Tooting in 1997 - chose to specialise in orthopaedic surgery because of his passion for sport, particularly cricket, tennis and rugby.
Said Mr Trikha, pictured here: “Having previously worked as a Senior Trauma Registrar at the Rowley Bristow Orthopaedic Centre I am now both very pleased, and proud, to be able to look forward to a career as a consultant working with a team who are so well respected within the specialty of orthopaedics.”

His career and experience has included completing two specialist fellowships in Knee Surgery, including the appointment as Knee Fellow at the internationally renowned North Sydney Orthopaedics Sports Medicine Centre in Australia.
He said: “I have a special interest in sports related injuries and knee surgery which includes reconstruction of the knee and ligaments, arthroscopy, and total, partial or uni-compartmental knee replacements.”
“With the huge range of sport activities now available many people are experiencing injuries that years ago were quite rare. My work is in a fast-developing field and I hope I can help to restore people to fitness so that they can resume their normal, independent, daily lives.”
Mr Trikha is married to Aoife and has a baby son called Billy. |
