Ashford and St. Peter’s welcomes new Chief Executive

Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust welcomes their new Chief Executive, Andrew Liles, who took up his appointment at the beginning of last week on Monday 5th January.
 
At the end of his first week, Andrew commented: ‘I’m delighted to join Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals, where I have received an excellent welcome from staff across both hospital sites. It is clear the Trust plays an important role within the local community, and I’m looking forward to helping develop that even further. What has really struck me so far is the commitment and hard work of staff, particularly during these difficult winter months when the pressure is really on.’
 
 
Andrew joins Ashford and St. Peter’s from the Royal West Sussex NHS Trust which runs St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester where he had been Chief Executive since March 2006.    Prior to that, he was Director of Strategy at Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust and acting Chief Executive at Southampton University Hospitals.

Trust Chair, Aileen McLeish, said: ‘We are extremely pleased to have Andrew join us and I and the Board are very much looking forward to working with him. Andrew has the right mix of experience and skills to take Ashford and St. Peter’s forward as a major healthcare provider for the people of Surrey and south west London.’

Andrew added: ‘What really inspires me is our vision for the future – to continually improve services, putting patients and staff at the heart of this improvement and developing our role as a major provider of acute and specialist services. I’m looking forward to working in partnership with staff and our local community, particularly as we move towards our Foundation Trust application, to make that into a reality.’
