Five girls and three boys were born at St. Peter’s Hospital on 1st January 2010. The first arrived shortly after midnight at 00.30hrs, a little girl born to Emma Richardson of Staines. Her daughter weighed 6lbs.14oz. (3.120 kg.) Following the tradition of the maternity unit for the first baby of the New Year, when the Mum and daughter went to the Joan Booker Ward from the Labour Ward the baby girl was placed in a special crib covered in white broidery anglais lace, and she received a soft toy gift. The fifth girl, from the Woking area, was born in the afternoon. On 1st January 2009 seven girls and four boys were born at St. Peter’s Hospital. |
