New Year Babies

Five girls and three boys were born at St. Peter’s Hospital on 1st January 2010. The first arrived shortly after midnight at 00.30hrs, a little girl born to Emma Richardson of Staines. Her daughter weighed 6lbs.14oz. (3.120 kg.)

Following the tradition of the maternity unit for the first baby of the New Year, when the Mum and daughter went to the Joan Booker Ward from the Labour Ward the baby girl was placed in a special crib covered in white broidery anglais lace, and she received a soft toy gift.

The other mothers (in order of delivery) were who had New Year Day babies were:
  • Sabrina Kimber of Chobham who had a daughter at 00.57hrs weighing 6lbs. 3oz. (2.800 kg)
  • Melanie Childs of Ascot who had a son at 01.12hrs weighing 3lbs. 9oz. (1.632 kg.)
  • Kelly Hodges of Basildon whose son George Walker was born at 01.03hrs weighing 1lb.10oz (726gms)
  • Danielle Biggs of Chertsey whose son, Henry, was born at 02.33hrs weighing 6lbs.3oz (2.820 kg)
  • Hayley Jenner of Ashford whose daughter Abbie was born at 03.06 hrs weighing 8lbs.4oz (3.730 kg)
  • Priti Pampatwar of Goldsworth Park, Woking, whose daughter was born at 18.55hrs weighing 7lbs 3oz (3.260 kg)

The fifth girl, from the Woking area, was born in the afternoon.

On 1st January 2009 seven girls and four boys were born at St. Peter’s Hospital.
