Since 1999 Isobel Napper and her friends have been raising money for the Breast Care Unit at the Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust.

All manner of fundraising activities have taken place over that time and for the fifth year running their very special calendar has made a big contribution to the £5,000 plus that has been received by Consultant Surgeon Ms Sunita Shrotria on behalf of the unit this year.

Said Isobel: “Our fundraising included a very successful lunch at Great Fosters Hotel, Egham, and the sale of the 2010 calendar that featured five members of the London Welsh Rugby team who were pictured as a group with all of us, as well as for the 12 months of the year with individual members of our fundraising committee. 
 
“We are all patients of the Breast Unit and all work as a team to support the unit’s work. It is our way of thanking the whole unit for the work it carries out and this is an opportunity to say a very big “Thank you” publically to all those local companies and individuals that support us in our fundraising.”
 
Consultant Surgeon Ms Sunita Shrotria said: “I would like to thank Isobel and her family and friends who have always supported the breast unit over the years. The money raised will help to fund research projects in the unit which are very important if we are to improve standards of care. Our unit has been at the forefront of delivering patient focussed care and we are committed to promote the wellbeing of women with breast cancer.”
 
The 2010 calendar, printed by Kall Kwik, was on sale at Debenhams, Staines. Isobel and her team are already planning a special calendar for the 2012 Olympic year.
