Leading the way in the fight against cervical cancer Print

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women under 35 years old. Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust is doing all it can to support the prevention of this terrible disease through its improved cervical screening service.

Trust Improves Care Quality Commission Performance Ratings Print

Quality of patient care at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust has been rated as ‘good’ for the second year running by the Care Quality Commission. In today’s performance ratings, the Trust has also been rated as ‘good’ for its financial management, which is an important improvement from last year when their financial performance was rated as ‘fair’.

The tiny, fragile babies who need highly skilled nursing by the staff of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey, also need something else – mother’s milk.

Neonatal Transfer Service Extends its Hours Print

The Neonatal Transfer Service is delighted to announce that from 5th October 2009, the current 12 hour service will be extended to a 24 hour service. The new service will enable mothers and babies to be as close to their homes as possible whilst receiving the level of care required.

Financial performance of local hospital improving Print

Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust is one of only four NHS trusts in the South East area to improve its financial performance and Auditors’ Local Evaluation score since last year. The evaluation is carried out annually by the Audit Commission, an independent watchdog responsible for ’protecting the public purse’ by auditing public services and reviewing the quality of their financial systems.
