| Three national awards in three years for St Peter’s midwives |

On Monday 19th July a team of midwives from St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey made a special trip to the Houses of Parliament to collect a Highly Commended All-Party Parliamentary Group on Maternity Award. The award was given to the hospital’s birth reflections service for the exceptional level of aftercare and support offered to women following pregnancy, in the category of ‘responsive, woman-centred, family focused postnatal care’.

| Baby friendly is best for St Peter’s Hospital |

St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey has been awarded a Certificate of Commitment in its first step towards gaining international recognition from the UNICEF (United Nation’s Children’s Fund) Baby Friendly Initiative.
The Initiative is a global programme set up by UNICEF and the World Health Organisation and in the UK they work with health professionals to ensure that mothers and babies receive high quality support with breastfeeding.

| Seeing double at St Peter’s! |

On Saturday 3rd July, maternity staff at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey hosted their annual picnic for families with multiple babies. Judi Linney, the President of the Twins and Multiple Births Association (TAMBA) and over 30 families attended to enjoy the glorious sunshine and a picnic on the lawn outside Abbey Wing. Naomi Warrington, Midwife, said: “After several years of having to re-locate the picnic inside because of bad weather, it was a real treat to be able to set up outside and enjoy the sunshine! We all had a fantastic afternoon and are looking forward to next year’s picnic already.”
